We had scheduled for this engagement session six weeks before their wedding but it was pouring rain with no sign of stopping! Fortunately, the rain has always been a good sign for their relationship. They decided to get married just as hurricane Harvey began. And look how beautiful these portraits turned out! The rain lightened just enough as we started shooting that we weren’t completely rained out. Even though it was really damp, the overcast skies made for gorgeous and soft lighting.
Hermann Park is normally a really popular photo locations but there weren’t too many people thanks to the rain. We started by a structure called Arbor in the Pines which is this massive cement wall with a large whole in the back. It’s a great spot for really cool compositions but the rain and gray skies made it look super green.
We turned around to the live oak trees lined up by the reflection pool. I’m a huge sucker for moss covered trees, especially ones that have twisty and low branches.
The Sam Houston Monument was my favorite of all though! The cool gray looked amazing with the gray skies and M really popped in her sweet pink gharara. Isn’t she so beautiful?? I love this girl! Her smile is seriously the cutest ever and it makes me so happy to see her these two together ❤️
