Caitlin’s Birthday

New Orleans, LA

My sister celebrated her 30th birthday this weekend and we made an event of it by spending it in New Orleans! We had beignets at Cafe Du Monde, explored Bourbon Street, wandered through small shops, took a few laps around the carousel bar, and ate brunch in the Garden District. This is the kind of city that makes you look up everywhere you go – from the fun colored buildings to the balconies covered in hanging plants. Just make sure you don’t step in a puddle while you’re fawning over the awnings – like I did 🙁 .

The last time I visited New Orleans, I went with Rachel from Simply Sheppard (you can see more from our trip here). Last time, I promised I would dedicate more time to exploring the Garden District if I ever went again. We planned for brunch at a really cool little restaurant called the Another Broken Egg where I had some super delicious bananas foster pancakes (10/10 would recommend) and a spiked salted caramel cold brew (6/10 might try again). We had to rush back to catch our flights and breakfast had a really long wait (with no place to leave our bags) so we didn’t get to explore nearly as much as I would have hoped. Guess that just means I have to dedicate another trip to NOLA!
